The architect is Jesus Christ The owner He is too The Spirit of the Living God Chose to dwell in you His house is to be kept clean and pure And if there is dirt around there He sends to you His spoken Word Not needing to move a table or chair The house was built on a Solid Rock for on shifting sands it will sway And being constructed in that manner False doctrine can't take it away Though the outer walls seem plain Without a decorative show Inside the house that God built The light of Jesus glows | It's furnished with some prayer and cushioned with some pain The rooftop is consecration So to endure the prevailing rains Inside each room are pictures Hung with your good thoughts And framed and gilded with precious gold Is grace that can't be bought The doors are those that open and close To let you and others know | How many ways God makes for you As you journey here below The windows in this little house are clear too An admission of your own faults so others pray for you Yes, You're the house that God built He's got His eyes on you And when your earthly house dissolves There is a heavenly building of God for you So laborer, all saints faint not in what you do Do all things unto God, not men And you will find at the end A temple, the Lamb and a lighted lamp within |

You said your goodbyes On the telephone I sat and listened to All of your replies On the telephone I started to wonder why You said we were through And I agreed you can't have Your cake and eat it too But honey I didn't think it would end this way Now it seems like you turned you back away Why did you have to play with my heart I though we were on the same page Wanting a fresh new start You called me your lucky charm Promised you'll not cause my heart harm I was a breath of fresh air And I honestly thought you cared And it's a shame That I wallow in this pain But at least we will always have Scrabble and Purple Rain I know you don't think about me Like I think about you But this was the price to pay For the beautiful ones They hurt you every time
