Why is it so hard to let go of the ways of the world? What attachments have we formed that binds us to an existence that disregards the way God wants us to live. It seems like the more we continue to live an unrighteous life, the weight of sin continues to hold us down.
Sin is not a new concept to humanity. It’s been around for ages. God knew that if mankind continued to sin that it would lead to their destruction. He sent His son Jesus into the world to rid us of our impurities by allowing His son to die on the cross. It is through His blood that we are cleansed.
God’s love for us is so powerful that He draws us near to Him. It is here where we begin to see our whole lifestyle change and who could turn down such a wonderful makeover.
God promises to forgive you of all your sins.
When you accept Jesus into your heart, repentance is one of the first steps to develop-ing a relationship with God.
It doesn’t matter what you have done in your lifetime that may seem so horrible, God promises to let it all go away when admit your sin and ask for forgiveness.
There is nothing more relieving than to know that God will always love you in- spite of your wrongdoings and it is “in Him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace” (Ephesians 1:7).
God promises to be with you always.
In this world people are reliable to let you down. After all, we are human beings suffering under the condition of imperfection.
We will fail each other from time to time--even forsake each other in times of need. When life is good, you can always find people around, and when it gets depressing, you can feel the loneliness.
We’ve all experienced this one time or another, but it is good to know that when the world around you seems like no one is there, Jesus promises to be with you always for he says, “Lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world” (Mathew 28:20).
He promises to give you eternal life.
One day we will all pass away. It is a fact of life. We are born, we live and we will meet our Creator.
When this happens, the life we lived would seem incomparable to that great day. What is more important is that without giving your life to Christ, you will meet an impending doom. This is not a scare tactic but an important truth.
The world wants you to miss out on your opportunity to heaven, but because God loves you; he has created a way of escape through Jesus Christ. It is not His will for you to perish or miss out on eternal life. Believe it or not, the choice is yours.
Jesus makes a clear promise to “give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand” (John 10:28) to those who become his sheep and follow him.
It is delightful to know that God is a God who gives unlimited chances through His grace and mercy. His promises are permanent and true. It may be a scary thought to pick up your cross and follow Him, but best believe it is well worth it in the end.
